Disclaimer

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This page explains the use of the Clarens Xtreme website and important matters to consider when arranging adventure activities. It should be read with the activity information, your quotation and confirmation, and any activity-specific participation documents. It does not replace a safety briefing or create a blanket waiver of your rights.

Website information and booking requests

We aim to provide accurate descriptions, photographs and practical information about our activities and group experiences. Availability, operating times, routes, equipment and participation requirements can depend on the activity and current conditions. Ask our team to confirm the details relevant to your visit before making a commitment.

Submitting the website form is a booking enquiry, not automatic confirmation. Your booking is subject to availability, the applicable quotation and confirmation requirements, including any deposit communicated to you. Publication errors may be corrected, but this does not remove statutory rights or permit an unlawful change to an existing agreement.

Important notice about adventure risks

Activities such as abseiling, ziplining, wall climbing and Quick Jump involve heights and the risk of falls. Quad-bike tours involve moving vehicles, uneven terrain and collision risks. Paintball and archery involve projectiles and impact risks. Outdoor activities may also involve physical exertion, slips, trips, changing weather and other environmental hazards. Depending on the activity and circumstances, injuries can be serious or fatal.

Safety measures reduce risk but cannot remove every inherent risk. Please ask about any risk or instruction you do not understand before paying or participating. Significant risks and any liability or indemnity terms must be clearly brought to your attention in time for you to understand them, as required by the Consumer Protection Act.

Eligibility, equipment and safety instructions

Activity-specific age, size, weight, harness-fit, ability and experience requirements apply. A general description such as family-friendly does not mean that every person can participate in every activity. Confirm suitability with our team and consult the current activity requirements.

Wear the required clothing and footwear, use protective equipment as instructed, follow staff directions and remain within designated areas. Do not participate while impaired by alcohol, drugs or another condition affecting safe participation. Staff may stop or refuse an activity on reasonable safety grounds; any resulting charges or remedies remain subject to law.

Health and fitness

Before taking part, tell the relevant staff member about a health condition, injury, pregnancy, medication or other issue that could materially affect your safety or the safety of others. Share only information relevant to the activity and use a suitable private channel. Obtain advice from an appropriate healthcare professional if you are unsure about your fitness.

A participant’s disclosure responsibilities do not remove the operator’s duties of care or statutory obligations. Health information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Children and organised groups

Children must meet the requirements of the selected activity and have the necessary authorisation from a parent or legal guardian. Parents, guardians, schools and group organisers should agree on supervision, emergency contacts and permissions with our team before the activity. An organiser should not provide another person’s information or consent without the necessary authority.

Weather, changes and cancellations

Activities may need to be delayed, adapted or stopped where weather, equipment or other circumstances make it unsafe or impractical to proceed. We will discuss available alternatives and applicable remedies. If Clarens Xtreme cancels an activity that will not be provided, payments for that cancelled activity will be refunded, subject to any alternative you freely agree to and your statutory rights.

If you need to cancel, notify us as soon as possible. Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, you may cancel an advance booking and only a reasonable cancellation charge may be imposed. The circumstances, notice given, nature of the service and reasonable opportunity to refill the booking must be considered. The Act also protects qualifying cancellations caused by death or hospitalisation. There is no automatic forfeiture of every payment simply because a customer cancels.

Consumer rights and limits of this notice

Nothing on this website or in this notice excludes or limits liability for gross negligence, intentional wrongdoing or any liability that South African law does not permit to be excluded. It does not waive rights to fair terms, appropriate risk notices, quality services or other remedies under the Consumer Protection Act.

Any separately agreed booking or participation terms must also comply with applicable law. Merely browsing this website or sending an enquiry is not acceptance of an unrestricted indemnity or an acknowledgement that you have received a safety briefing.

Personal belongings and third-party services

Take sensible care of your belongings and ask staff about any available storage arrangements. This advice does not remove any responsibility the business has under applicable law.

External website links and any separately identified third-party services are subject to their own applicable terms and privacy notices. An external link is not a guarantee of its content. Ask who will supply any additional service before booking; your rights against the relevant supplier remain protected.

Website content and lawful use

Website text, photographs, branding and other material may be protected by intellectual-property rights. You may use the site for legitimate personal enquiries and bookings. Reproduction or commercial reuse requires permission unless permitted by law. Please do not misuse forms, interfere with the website or submit unlawful material.

Questions and applicable law

South African law applies, including the Consumer Protection Act where applicable. Nothing here restricts a lawful right to approach a regulator, ombud, tribunal or court.
